Akhilesh Yadav jumps boundary wall to pay floral tributes to Jay Prakash Narayan

A dramatic incident transpired in Lucknow on the occasion of birth anniversary of freedom fighter and prominent advocate against the emergency Late Jayaprakash Narayan.  Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav was not granted entry to the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre. Denied entry, Akhilesh Yadav jumped the boundary wall to pay floral tributes to Jay Prakash Narayan.

Afterward, he strongly criticized the closure of the gates at JPNIC, asserting that this action was undertaken to obstruct him from paying respect at the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan. The president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) went as far as to caution that he might initiate a ‘full-scale revolution’ similar to the one led by the social reformer. The SP chief posted in Hindi on X : “On the birth anniversary of the great socialist thinker and strong advocate for social justice, Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan-ji, is the path of JPNIC being blocked by putting up these tin sheets to stop the SP from garlanding his bust?”. Questioning the act, he said that the tin barricades were put up to stop the party from paying tribute to JP Narayan’s bust.

Officials have cited security reasons for not allowing the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister into the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre.
