The Assam Government has launched the Amrit Brikshya Andolan App and Portal.
Under this Andolan, all the citizens are encouraged to plant the sapling of the Identified Commercial Species to boost the tree economy of Assam. The participants will have to register themselves in the programme. All seedlings will be provided free of charge. The image, geo-location of the seedling planted will have to be uploaded. For planting seedling and uploading the image of the seedling planted along with geo-location and timestamp, the participants will get a financial grant of Rupees one hundred . Upon survival of the plant, they will receive another grant of Rupees two hundred. As sole owner of the tree, he/she will be responsible for its care. At district/block level, seedlings will be stocked and safe-keeping will be ensured. Participants will be provided with seedlings free of charge from their respective pre-defined collection centres. The benefit shall be transferred under Direct Beneficiary Transfer.
