BEL has also diversified into various areas like homeland security solutions, smart cities, e-governance solutions, space electronics including satellite integration, energy storage products including e-vehicle charging stations, solar, network & cyber security, railways & metro solutions, airport solutions, Electronic Voting Machines, telecom products, passive night vision devices, medical electronics, composites and software solutions.

Job Description

The Chairman and Managing Director is the Chief Executive of the Corporation and accountable to its Board of Directors and Government of India. He is responsible for the efficient functioning of the Corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters. CMD is required to liaise and keep contacts with the important customers and various Central Governments Authorities, particularly the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence and Defence Research and Development Organization. CMD is also required to maintain close liaison with appropriate levels in the three Services Headquarters regarding the ongoing Defence projects and to develop further business in Defence electronics. Besides this, CMD, BEL has to liaise with the appropriate State Government Authorities, Head of other Public Sector Undertakings, Customers and Collaborators, Commercial and Financial Institutions and other important organizations associated with the activities of the company. Responsibility of the CMD, BEL will be 1. To chair the meetings of the Board of Directors of BEL 2. Regular interactions with the Board of Directors and all other stakeholders. 3. To plan, direct, co-ordinate and control the activities of the company 4. To provide leadership and guidance with a view to accomplishing the objectives of the Company and its performance against planned targets. 5. Indigenization, import substitution, increasing exports, increasing Defence production, modernization and emphasis on R&D.
