India Secures a 7-Wicket Victory Over Pakistan in the 2023 Cricket World Cup

In a fantastic match at Narendra Modi Stadium, India notched up their eighth consecutive win in a truly effortless fashion, with this latest triumph proving to be their most straightforward yet. Their dominant performance against Pakistan only solidified their impressive World Cup record in ODIs.

India clinched a seven-wicket triumph in front of an enthusiastic crowd of over 100,000 spectators at Narendra Modi Stadium, marking their eighth consecutive World Cup victory over Pakistan in a streak that commenced in 1992. Jasprit Bumrah claimed figures of 2/19 in seven overs, while Kuldeep Yadav secured 2/35 in 10 overs, orchestrating Pakistan’s downfall from 155/2 in the 29.3rd over to a total of 191 all out in 42.5 overs. In addition to Kuldeep and Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja also contributed with two wickets each.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma set the stage ablaze with a rapid 36-ball half-century, while Shreyas Iyer provided the final flourish with an undefeated fifty of his own, propelling India to a comfortable victory. Rohit’s explosive 86 runs off 63 balls, embellished with six fours and six sixes, propelled India to a total of 192/3 in just 30.3 overs. Shreyas notched up his fifty with a boundary, which also happened to be the winning runs, concluding his innings unbeaten at 53 off 62 balls. India now tops the leaderboard with six points, leading New Zealand on net run-rate, following three consecutive wins.
