PM Modi will participate in Sant Mirabai Janmotsav at Mathura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in Sant Mirabai Janmotsav at Mathura on 23 November 2023. The programme is being organised to mark the 525th Birth Anniversary of Sant Mirabai. The programme will also mark the initiation of year-long programmes in the memory of Sant Mirabai. During the event, the Prime Minister will also release a commemorative stamp and coin in honour of Sant Mira Bai. He will also attend the cultural programme organised on the occasion. During the Braj Raj Utsav on November 23 BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malini will present a one-and-a-half-hour-long Dance Ballet based on the life of saint Meera Bai. The venue has been set up at the Railway ground in Mathura. It is also learnt that a movies based on the life of Mirabai will be screened in later days including the movie “Meera” with Hema Malini in lead role.

Mirabai was a great saint and devotee of Sri Krishna. Despite facing criticism and hostility from her own family, she lived an exemplary saintly life and composed many devotional bhajans. Her poetry expresses the longing and seeking of her soul for union with Sri Krishna. At times, she expresses the pain of separation and at other times the ecstasy of divine union. Mirabai was a devotee of the highest order. She was immune to the criticism and suffering of the world.
