One vacancy for the post of Ship Surveyor-Cum-Deputy Director General (Technical) in Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (OBC-01).
The post is permanent. General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
Pay Scale: Level- 12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
Age: 48** years.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
(A) EDUCATIONAL: Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized University.
(B) EXPERIENCE: Eight years practical experience in design, construction, survey and repairs of ship carried out in ship building or ship repairing yards or any design or survey organization after the period of degree course.
NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
DUTIES: Survey and inspection of sailing vessel, Inspection of Hull including details relating to Form, Design, Stability Strength and sub-division etc. Measurement of Passenger accommodation. Survey of Load Lines, Partial Survey of LSA during constructions and other duties arising under M.S.Act 1958 and Rules framed thereunder.
HQ: Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai and Mercantile Marine Departments located at various parts in India
Any Other Condition: The candidates recruited to the post will be governed/covered by the New Contributory Pension Scheme w.e.f. 01.01.2004.
